DEVON GRIMES
Devon Grimes is a Brooklyn based painter and creative. Raised in Virginia, Devon holds a BA degree in oil painting from the University of Virginia. When she's not painting, she frequents acting classes and poetry readings.
Her works features themes that are based on specific aspects of Devon’s daily life that excite and inspire her. Her works on paper draw from her lifelong obsession of linear movement and unsuspecting color relationships. She explores her subjects in planes of shape that she then flattens with color. Although she prefers to study the human face, her almost decade long career in floral design + styling taught her that flowers and food make for compelling substitutes.

NINA CLAYTON
Black Linen Collages, 2024.
These collages are created from transparent-primed linen, as well as linen painted in a variety of colors. The unifying element of the series is that, in each work, I have used shapes cut from linen that I painted black. There are no found images, such as clippings or photos.
These works are small and almost square. They are primarily organic shapes but often play against others that are geometric. Some are very still and a bit architectural. Others are more dynamic and can refer to movements found in landscapes.
There is a challenge in creating a variety of unique images with very few colors and the same small space. I have enjoyed making them and hope there is pleasure in viewing them as well.
